Asher Pictures: Page 1 -2004

Chris and I spent a lot of time deciding on a name for our child. We wanted a name that stood for important things in each of our lives, and something of a directional guide for our child. Meet Asher XT Gordon. Asher means "Happy Boy" in Hebrew. That is a reference to a big factor in my life, my father (and Asher's grandfather Barney Gordon). His middle letters are not initials -they had a hard time understanding that at the hospital. We each picked a letter with great meaning to us. X: is for Malcolm X (a hero to his papa), T: is for Grandma Teresa Bucalo (a hero to his mama). All three of these people touched, or changed, or shaped our lives- and now they will shape him in a new way. Birth date: Wednesday January 21, 2004 2:22PM. The pictures are in a general order from birth to recent events. Watch him grow up online...without all the mess and fuss. |

January - March 2004- January 21, 2004: Being birthed at Strong Hospital, the best baby ever born from me. Sorry, even though I was offered the chance- I declined to bring the camera into the OR. Home in Scottsville, sleeping and bathing...that's about it...oh and diapers, lots of diapers. It's worth nothing that Uncle Carmen changed no diapers. |

Spring, Summer 2004- Easter with the Bucalo family and "Frenchie" the weiner dog in Allentown PA., on the floor at home. His godmother Jenny looks so comfortable with a baby- eh Asher will make her comfortable...eventually. And she had to be comfortable with one in her future. Glazed over expressions ruled, as did baby nicknames (Baby bighead, Master of disaster, Diaper terrorist...), visiting Aladdin's restaurant, Maggie the cat warms up, Grandma Gordon and Doug warm up, visiting papa's old workmate Jen K, Aunt Steph, and step by step his first roll over. |
