My first classes in art always involved the simple act of ink on paper.  I have always loved linework, it's elegant, detailed, and loose.  It is just the artist and the pen.  I like challenging myself through experiemntation, so this is a page of those random challenges.  Quick ideas made into form, whatever form is available.  Even when I am working quickly, I try to balance form and function.  What idea am I trying to present?  What artistic prinicples am I relying upon?  Does this need to be a big idea, or can it just exist for its own purpose?  Sometimes I am trying out ideas, or just playing- so from time to time it is a brand new material- or maybe just toast.
